I’m baaaack!
I am old enough now that I can look upon my life and see patterns. There have been, of course, the normal transitions that all of us undertake–evolving from child to adult, finding the right grown-up fit for ourselves, parenthood (or not), work to support habits like eating –and if we’re lucky enough to have survived all that–elder maturity. Some choose vocations that are a lynchpin for life. Others, like me, have what I like to call “a wide and varied resume”, though the underlying theme is of service work.
My life has been anything but boring –not one with a fun or adventurous tone—but with a more calamitous flavor. And things get switched up about every ten years or so. I have experiences that are interesting, and funny, and sometimes shocking–even a couple of occasions that could be called “near-death”. Certainly not one I would have chosen but have endured, nonetheless.
Yet… here I am.
Welcome to my newest incarnation, Amy the Author.
I have been writing all of my life. From my Dear Diary laments of my teen years to things like mind-numbing operations manuals for my cleaning business. I’ve written as the voice of and for others as well as a few (as many of you have read in recent years) rather ire-filled political rantings. I even finished my first novel which is just a fictionalized memoir, but in retrospect, a necessary bridge to get to where I find myself now. The jury (read: my publisher) is still out on that one.
It has been in the last year that I have decided to focus my compulsion to clack out words on my laptop to actual storytelling, compiled into a book, and sold for income. And I have opted to start in the “Cozy Mystery” genre.
“Well… I didn’t see THAT coming!” those of you who know me may be saying.
Me? Cozy? I can hear the laughter now.
If nothing else, I can be a chameleon when I need to be… but now it’s time to again change how I support myself by attempting to work “smarter”. And honestly, I need something a little less… physical than the housecleaning that has been my bread and butter.
Stay tuned and please subscribe to stay in touch and see all my upcoming exciting news!
You are so inspiring! Keep up the great work!
